Meet Ian Travers, Head Coach
I have been involved in triathlon since 2012, completing my first sprint triathlon. It was at this point I caught the triathlon bug and was hooked. In the years since, I have gone on to complete several half iron distance events as well as 3 x Ironman finishes, 2 of these being at the famous Ironman Lanzarote - The world's toughest Ironman course!
As well as a passion for all things triathlon, I have also moved into the world of endurance swimming and in 2018 successfully swam the length of Loch Lomond - 23 miles long, a long day at the office!!
I have a real drive to help others achieve their goals and believe that my experience of these events are invaluable in order to support and coach you on your journey - I’ve been in your position.
I have a Degree in Exercise Science and I'm an Ironman certified Coach. As a personal trainer since 2008, I take a great deal of pride in supporting people to reach their personal goals.
Along with personalised training plans built around your life, professional and family commitments I will support you throughout your journey with regular check ins and support.
"I met Ian a few years ago whilst training for my first sprint triathlon event.
My training plan before meeting Ian was varied with no clear structure resulting in poor training habits, low motivation, lack of skills knowledge, increased injury risk, and poor nutritional habits. My lack of understanding of training and increased time spent slogging it out in the gym with less time on my hands for other important priorities.
However, attending Ian's triathlon training workshops changed my training outlook and increased my awareness of purposeful training and clear goal setting. Ian's motivational techniques and structured training plans increased my fitness, provided a better understanding of training and nutrition habits with less time slogging it out in the gym.
Following Ian's training plan and top tips increased my fitness levels and reduced my injury risk as an age grouper. With thanks to Ian I have now completed several sprint and standard distance triathlons and my first full Ironman in 2018.
I would recommend Ian's personal approach, knowledge, enthusiasm, and understanding of sports science to anyone wanting to participate in their first triathlon event or planning to develop their competitive understanding of triathlons and multi-sport events."

"Ian's triathlon coaching was excellent and he gave me the confidence to enter my first event (a week before my wedding!). He provided me with a personalised training plan based on my fitness level. He guided me every step of the way and was always available for advice and support when needed. Ian took me through regular fitness tests to ensure I was working at the correct level and worked on my technique too. He even went the extra mile to come and support me on race day.
I found his coaching very motivating. He is such an enthusiastic, supportive coach with lots of experience to offer and I couldn't recommend him highly enough"
